Parents’ Metaphorical Perceptions Towards Adolescents and Being the Parent of a Adolescent

This study examined the metaphorical perceptions of parents with adolescent children towards adolescents and being parent a teenager. The qualitative participants consisted 102 whose were at 8-12 grade level in Ankara. data collected spring term 2019-2020 academic year. participant asked to fill blanks: "I think, today's are like ... because ……" "Being teenager is … ……...". themes that described involved egocentrism, sense self identity, storm stress view, autonomy seek, effects technology. associated included patience, as guide/supervisor, negative affectivity. findings discussed light different views relevant literature.
